WINES AVAILABLE FOR TASTING AT THE WINERY AND AVAILABLE TO ALL FOR PURCHASE
Made in the traditional Methode Champenoise French bottle fermentation style from Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes.
One of our most popular wines, this Chard will not disappoint. Plenty of white fruit on the nose, with just the right amount of butter and oak. The acid pulls the fruit, oak, and butter into balance leaving a clean finish and preparing the palate for the next sip. Unlike our non- reserve Chard this was not fined or filtered which creates an even bolder, creamier mouth feel.
One of several wines we make at our friend’s winery in Chile. This is a blend of Carmenere, Cab, Malbec, and Syrah. Each grape is plucked by hand off the stem leaving this wine with a silky palate and abundant fruit.
This is the second time putting three different Zinfandel wines together but the proportions are very different from the prior blend. The wine is made from 38% Livermore Valey Del Arroyo Zin, 38% Dry Creek Zin, and 24% Enz Vineyard Zin. This wine has a massive amount of complex fruit as well as a significant amount of spice. A Zin like no other.
A collaborative project among six Livermore Wineries, Syrah lends bright red fruit while Merlot adds darker fruit and mid-palate structure. Cab fruit marries these two together nicely while creating a roundness on the palate, and the Petit Verdot builds in front-to-back length. We think you will enjoy our take on this blend of Syrah, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cab Franc and Petite Verdot.
This is a Cabernet Sauvignon made with 97% Cab fruit from the estate vineyard, and 3% Cabernet Franc from Cienega Valley. The estate Cabernet was nearly perfect on its own, but needed just a little help with the nose and finish that the Cab Franc was happy to contribute. The wine was aged in barrel for 2 years then bottled, and after 2.5 years in bottle we determined this wine was ready for consumption.
Our latest release for our wine club members, this 2016 Cab made with our estate fruit is a bold, well-balanced, cab with a round mouth feel and our signature finish. Aged in 84% French oak for 20 months and an additional 30 months in bottle, this is a complex wine that is drinking extremely well.
The second bottle of our latest wine club release, this is one of our signature wines with fruit from our great friends at the Derose Vineyard in Cienega Valley. This is a big wine with beautiful ripe fruit, made in the new world, California style. This Franc has abundant notes of bing cherry and dark red fruit, with hints of chocolate and a long finish.
A red blend named in honor of Steve B’s wife Kim whose family comes from Italy and who waits patiently for their upcoming cruise that has been delayed until the world re-opens. This is a lean and bright wine made in the Tuscan style with the base being Sangiovese and includes Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cab Pfeffer. Great with your favorite red sauce and just as nice when sipping on its own.
A unique blend of Estate Cabernet Sauvignon and Dry Creek Zinfandel, resulting in a bold and fruit driven wine. Named in honor of the seldom-seen but ever-so-popular Steve Melander, who was nicknamed Howard after the elusive Howard Hughes.
This is our signature wine having won our largest award to date for a prior vintage. The fruit deserves all the credit which comes from the vineyard of our good friends the Derose family in Cienega Valley. This Zin is over 113 years old, so it produces very little fruit. But that which is produced is some of the most incredible Zinfandel anywhere on this planet (in our opinion)
This fruit comes from the Cienega Valley just a few miles from our award-winning Ancient Vine Zin. With the same climate and terroir, these grapes have produced a Zin with robust dark fruit, a surprising full-mouth feel, plenty of soft tannins with a lasting finish. This was the only year we were able to secure this beautiful fruit, so please enjoy it while it lasts.
This is our signature blend of Cabernet Pfeffer, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Cabernet Franc with the notorious, interesting pepper notes exceeded with coffee and sweet notes.
The three letters in this acronym stand for only two grapes; Cabernet Sauvignon & Merlot. A very popular wine for us, one of very few blends we’ve made more than once.
Our Zinfandel blend of fruit from the Dry Creek Valley and Cienega Valley vineyards. This Zin is nearly sold out and has a unique flavor and comforting mouthfeel with balanced spice and deep red fruit.
Another of our wines we make in Chile, this varietal was originally planted in Chile and thought to be Merlot. Fortunately, it was Carmenere which put Chilean wine on the map. Carmenere is known for its bold mouthfeel, rich color, and intense fruit. This is exactly the style in which this wine was made.
Also a wine we make in Chile, we believe this is one of the best growing regions for the Malbec grape in the world. Deep red fruit with a hint of coffee on the nose and palate, this is a juicy and lush Malbec, lightly oaked with a lingering finish.
