
Tasting Room Manager
Job Description:
The Tasting Room Manager at 3 Steves Winery is responsible for overseeing the winery’s front of house for Direct to Consumer (DTC) wine sales, Wine Club memberships, tastings, and events (excluding Ziganti Vineyard events). The Tasting Room Manager will be responsible for supervising, mentoring, and motivating the tasting room staff, and collaborate with upper management whenever needed.
This individual will ensure the tasting room and inventory areas are clean, organized and stocked at all times, will assist with the management of inventory and developing and monitoring tasting room policies and procedures. The manager must have the ability to develop relationships with customers and wine club members and will be knowledgeable about the winery’s wines, history, and winemaking process. The Manager’s mission is to reinforce the 3 Steves brand, by delivering an exceptional experience for members and guests.
Job Details:
Guest Operations:
– Oversee the day-to-day operations of the tasting room which includes tastings, visitor relations, and staff performance
– Create and execute engaging, educational, and memorable experiences for guests
– Effectively suggest and sell wine & club memberships to customers
– Positive execution of winery and guest events
– Acquire and maintain a thorough knowledge of our winery and our wines
– Greets all visitors to the Winery and pours wines for tasting
– Educate customers about wine, the history of our winery and vineyards, and of the Livermore Valley Wine Region
Team Management:
– Manage daily operations of the wine tasting room, including opening, and closing procedures, scheduling of staff, inventory management, and staff supervision.
– Supervise Tasting Room leads, support and oversee Tasting Room initiatives as needed
– Train new tasting room team members as needed
– Oversee and understand Tasting Room and Wine Club software
Marketing & Strategic Planning:
– Collaborate with the upper management and winemaking team to develop and implement strategic sales plans aligned with winery corporate goals.
– Create team goals that support overall winery corporate objectives.
– Proficient with email marketing and social media through various platforms
– May be assigned other tasks or be asked to participate in other activities both on-site and off-site as needed, and additional duties related to wine and/or customer service
Qualifications:
– Minimum two years experience in a management role within a winery or hospitality centric business
– Extensive wine knowledge — WSET or Sommelier qualifications preferred
– Must have or obtain RBS license through ABC
– Proficient and or familiar with POS systems (Square, Tock, Club management software etc.)
– Knowledge of tasting rooms and grape-growing regions inside and outside of the Livermore Valley.

– Able to work a flexible schedule (weekends, holidays and evenings)

– Ability to multi-task, understand and follow written and verbal instructions, and be situationally aware of your surroundings
– Must be a team player with the ability to mentor and help others.
– Able to perform quality work efficiently and with minimal supervision
– Open to working on-site special events after hours if needed
– Open to working other special events off-property when needed
Physical Requirements:
– Must be at least 21 years of age
– Be able to coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously
– Able to lift up to 40 pounds
– Must be able to stand, walk, lift and bend for up to 8 hours per day
Hours and Compensation:
– Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday, with some late nights required
– $22 – $25 per hour, depending on experience
